| Valspar is replacing both
Valspar and McCloskey branded interior wood stains and finishes with the Cabot
brand. Many of these cross over to new names and numbers but are the same color
and consistency that folks have grown comfortable using. Some favorite colors
like Light Oak are discontinued and completely sold out, others such as Pecan
and Fruitwood have swapped names and some are only available in quarts and
halfpints. Call us if you really want to get halfpints. |

WaterBase Polyurethane Interior Water-Borne
Polyurethane is an acrylic polyurethane that provides crystal clear protection
with the ease of fast-drying and water clean-up. For use on: most types of wood
such as Oak, Pine, Fir, Birch, Aspen, Maple, Cypress, Mahogany and Redwood. How
much to buy: One gallon covers up to 400-500 sq. ft. depending on surface
porosity. Do not thin. Although Cabot says Mahogany and redwood, be very
careful to do a test on a good sized piece of scrap. These deep colored woods
can sometimes bleed when using a waterbase finish. If your test proves positive
for tannin extraction, use an oil based or shellac sanding sealer such as
(Zinsser's Seal Coat) as a barrier. Interior Oil-Based Polyurethane is a
traditional polyurethane that protects wood surfaces with a hard and durable
finish. For use on: most types of wood such as Oak, Pine, Fir, Birch, Aspen,
Maple, Cypress, Mahogany and Redwood.

Wipe-on Polyurethane is an easily applied and protective
polyurethane finish with a traditional hand-rubbed appearance. For use on:
Hard-to-finish interior wood surfaces such as chairs, railings, spindles,
furniture and wood trim. Cabot Teak Oil Finish restores and maintains teak
wood with its premium blend of natural ingredients. Teak Oil provides a rich
oiled appearance while preventing graying and staining. This deep-penetrating
formula extends the life of teak by replacing the natural oils taken away by
exposure to the elements. This clear finish resists cracking or peeling and
accentuates the natural beauty of teak. Ideal for marine environments. Do not
apply over varnish, as it cannot penetrate the wood properly. For long-lasting
protection against sun and rain, refresh your teak periodically with another
coat of Teak Oil. Cabot Tung Oil Finish imparts a striking hand-rubbed
beauty to both bare and stained wood surfaces. The deep-penetrating formula
revitalizes aged and refinished interior wood, restoring its natural beauty.
For use on: Use on any bare or stained interior wood surface where a natural
wood look is desired. For long-lasting protection, simply wipe-on this premium
Tung Oil Finish. Hand rub additional coats onto the surface for increased sheen
and durability. Do not apply to floors. Do not use on woods already sealed with
protective finish.
